Philippine PC Market on the rise

A recent report of the International Data Corporation (IDC) reveals that the Philippine PC market is currently on the rice.  According to the report there are around 518.645 units shipped during the first quarter of the year.  This puts the Philippines among the few remaining markets worldwide who sees growth in the PC market.

IDC is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications, and consumer technology markets.

According to the report, the highest contributor to this gain is consumer PC market which reaches 65% while commercial PC market declined by 17% due to the elections.  Most government projects had been put on hold because of this.

The IDC also projects that ICT adoption of the Philippine will continue to remain strong.  Among the factors that are positively affecting the market includes favorable macroeconomic trends, rise of millennials in the workforce, impact of the IT-BPO industry, and demand from small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Creation of the new Department on Information and Communication Technology (DICT) will bring the Philippine market on a better position.  It will also aid in seeing the country as a favorable investment market both locally and globally.
