History and Secrets of Pokemon Go

How did Pokemon Go started?  It was all thanks to a man named, John Hanke.  Hanke is the founder of Niantic Games who started to create Augmented Reality (AR) games.  The company's most popular and successful creation was Ingress, a game which created portals worldwide.

The history of Pokemon Go was a bit interesting and I guess we could all learn from it on a business perspective as well.  It involves a lot of creativity and trust in what someone can do,  From starting 3 gaming startups in 1995, 1996 and 1998 to becoming the lead creator of Google Earth and Google Maps, John Hanke is a remarkable person.

We should all thank Ingress.  If not for Ingress and the CEO of the Pokemon Company becoming a fan of the game, there would be no Pokemon Go.  In fact if we will look closely most of the portals used in the first game are now either Poke Shops or Pokemon Gyms.

Pokemon Go and it's impact

Pokemon Go is now officially released in the Philippines.  As soon as the game is released it seems everyone is downloading it.  Many have warned against the disadvantages of the game and urge them to play safely.  Malls had also made use of this to make their own marketing and events.  In fact there had been an increasing demand for Pokemon cosplayers across malls.

As of today Pokemon Go had reached 100 million downloads on Google Play in just 33 days.  It had also became the most active mobile game in the United States with more than 21 million active users as of July 12 surpassing Candy Crush Saga's peak of 20 million.

Pokemon Go is generating US$10 million in revenue on a daily basis.  Worldwide, the game already generated US$200 mullion in revenue already surpassing all the games including Candy Crash and Clash of Clans.

Now don't be surprised with this next one.  The average daily usage for Pokemon Go already surpassed that of Snapchat, Tinder, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

Pokemon Go is really an amazing game and I hope that this history of Pokemon Go helps you understand and appreciate the game.
